On Project Management...
Multiple variables directly affect the success of a project. Managing team resources, strategic planning, understanding the end user, and delivering on time and within budget are all key ingredients to a successful launch and return on investment.
Special care must be taken to manage the design process effectively. Team collaboration, both in-house and when out-sourced, can make or break the most ingenious of concepts. Fostering creativity and enthusiasm by empowering team members to take ownership in their work and initiative in honing their skillsets is of utmost importance. Tactical planning, defining project goals, weighing priorities, establishing clear procedures, and maintaining an open communication and workflow are all essential steps to ensuring that design iterations are executed efficiently and within scope.
And perhaps most importantly,
ensuring that the product meets the goals and desires of
the end user through the examination of target market demographics,
focus group testing and human factor studies can determine
the product's viability and ultimate success or failure.
